How do I get my iPod library from my home PC to my laptop?

I recently got a new laptop for college. I would love to get all my music (which is on my iPod) onto my laptop without having to individually rip each CD onto it. Is there anyway that I could transfer my iPod music directly to my laptop for free?
Thanks JM2030!! That was really helpful, let me try it!!
